Know the Story

Every tear has a story. Some tears are shed in sadness, repentance, anger or joy.
Yet, some tears fall because of standing in the awesome presence of God.
Overwhelmed by his grace, mercy and amazing love, the saturation of his spirit in
our hearts is expressed in uncontainable tears.
No matter the reason, tears are cleansing for the soul.
Before making assumptions or judgements, know the story.

Simply the Best

Our best life is found in yours. Our best plans form out of surrender to you.
Our best dreams go beyond our imagination to realization when we let you
lead the way.

You go before us, showing us the holds for our hands and feet. How to cling
to the rock in preparation for the next move.

You know the mountains in our path and the road we currently travel. In
your hand are the best directions to lead us to our destiny.

Steady As She Goes

Steady as she goes, in times of joy and woe, seeking God’s face and
purpose. For nothing is done by chance or coincidence; there’s meaning in it
all. Always believing, even when it’s hard or doesn’t make sense. Ever
reaching and looking toward the sunrise. Stumbling at times, steady as she
goes.

Beauty for Ashes

A woman sits on a park bench crying. Not sobbing, but softly allowing tears to stream down her face. Some passersby take notice. A young couple pushing their baby in a stroller glance. Unsure about approaching the woman, they awkwardly hurry by. An older woman stops and sweetly tells the woman she’s too pretty to be crying and that she’ll ruin her makeup. Finally, an elderly man takes a seat on the bench with the woman. Such a gentleman, he offers his handkerchief and asks why she’s crying? What makes her so sad?

The woman turns and looks at him with sincere eyes, stating her tears aren’t from being sad or angry. She explained that as she sat on the bench, basking in the sunshine, enjoying the cool spring day, she began to reflect on how much her life has changed for the better; the challenges she’s overcome, the experience of feeling truly loved and the willingness to show compassion and love towards others. The woman went on to say that her life changed when she obtained a deeper understanding of who she is – a child of God, a daughter of Christ her King. The challenges and setbacks she faced in life equipped her to walk out her purpose and be of service to others.

She assured the man there was no need to feel sorry for her because she was finding fulfillment and peace unlike she’s ever known. Who cares about a perfectly made up face when you’re sitting awestruck before a perfect God.

and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of    ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. –  Isaiah 61:3 (New International Version)

Seeds for the Journey

Tiny seed in the ground, take your rest; be fed by the fertile ground in which you’ve been

planted. It’s cold now, but you’re insulated and safe from the elements

Wait for spring, for that’s your time. Your tender shoots pierce the earth

With sunlight and rain, unfurl silky green leaves and raise your head towards me

Stand tall as your beauty is appreciated, confirmation that your journey was not in vain

Believeland Rocks!

Dawning of a new day. On the edge of a new era, expectation and destiny are crisp in the air. Like a phoenix rises from the ashes, a city reclaims the legacy. The highlight reel from the past has been on continual repeat; The Drive, The Shot and The Mistake on the Lake have been replaced with All In and Windians Rally Together. That’s how we overcome the ridicule and adversity of the past; join together to support one another.

Can you believe it? Oh, I believe it. Believeland Rocks!

History shouldn’t be forgotten or rewritten. Remember The Miracle of Richfield and the World Series Champs of 1948. All are reminders of what we’ve been through, what we’ve survived and how we’ve thrived.

Can you believe it? Oh, we believe it. Believeland Rocks!

New chapters written with stories to tell, the city and her people grind, stand strong and transform. All Across Northeast Ohio and beyond, sing out the anthem – This Town Is My Town – with voices and hearts raised.

Can you believe it? Oh, we believe it. Believeland Rocks!

Beacon

Like a boat in the middle of the raging sea, tossed about by the wind and waves. Remembering sunny skies, warm breezes, salty air, but how did I come to this place? How did I get so lost?

Through the chaos, a beacon of light is in view. I may have gotten off course, but I am not lost. The unexpected and challenging derailment serves as a reminder to keep my eyes on the beacon of light, not leaning to my own knowledge and inklings. The beacon of light will see me through.
