A Warrior’s Strength

There’s strength in admitting where you’re weak and that you
need the Spirit of God to intervene. It’s where reality meets and is
overridden by God’s ability and willingness to do more than we
can ask or think. A warrior doesn’t fight and go forth in his or her
own strength; they go forth in the spirit of their King.

So he said to me,”This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by
might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty. –
Zechariah 4:6 (NIV)

Free

Diamonds and pearls. Silver and gold. Veils and tiaras. A veil covers more than a bride’s face from her intended; it is the covering of deceit to two women. Just a smidgen of truth interwoven with a ton of lies, but I found and unraveled the thread. Empty promises carried in vessels of words flowed effortlessly from your lips.

When confronted with the truth, the mask became hot and you started to sweat. Realizing your ultimate goal wouldn’t be accomplished, defensiveness and angry insults spilled forth, though you tried to reel them back. It’s too late; peek-a-boo, I see you!

No longer blind, the warrior’s eyes are focused on what’s real and her legs are strong for the journey forward. She knows it’ll be a hard road, but it is better than being where God isn’t. With back straight and head held high, she embraces the Truth, for it has set her free.

Wormhole

I may trip over the entanglements of life, but Lord I hold fast to you. You’re the only one who will pull me through.
In a world like a wormhole, brimming with alternative facts, flip side realities and alter egos, your love never fails.
Your grace and mercy never change, yet are new every morning.
Your love is like the galaxies; never ending and always something new to discover.
Lord, I hold fast to you. You’re the only one who will pull me through.

Trust

God, in you I trust. Through uncertainty, heartbreak and the trials of life. For that’s all they are; opportunities for me to trust and lean on you. Testimony to your miraculous power, grace and mercy.

Lord, before this was brought to my doorstep, you knew, you made provision, you gave love and grace unmeasurable. So if no one else stands with me, I know you do. I’ll fight and move forward in your name, knowing you’re with me. Worrying won’t help, but trusting you will. In God I trust.

Real

Life, when it’s real, is messy.
It doesn’t always look like postcards, fashion magazine pages, red carpet photos and movie reels.
It challenges the neat little box of what we think life should look and feel like.
Spurring us on to dig deeper, to be more honest with ourselves, others and more importantly, you.
In our messiness, you don’t cast us off or throw us away; you desire to draw us closer. To show us how you see us, the people around us and situations we face.
You engage us to love on us, give light, necessary correction and always direction to our path.
You never turn away. You’re always there, waiting for us.
You remind and reassure us that while we’re not perfect, we’re perfectly loved.

Know the Story

Every tear has a story. Some tears are shed in sadness, repentance, anger or joy.
Yet, some tears fall because of standing in the awesome presence of God.
Overwhelmed by his grace, mercy and amazing love, the saturation of his spirit in
our hearts is expressed in uncontainable tears.
No matter the reason, tears are cleansing for the soul.
Before making assumptions or judgements, know the story.

Simply the Best

Our best life is found in yours. Our best plans form out of surrender to you.
Our best dreams go beyond our imagination to realization when we let you
lead the way.

You go before us, showing us the holds for our hands and feet. How to cling
to the rock in preparation for the next move.

You know the mountains in our path and the road we currently travel. In
your hand are the best directions to lead us to our destiny.
